Are you as smart
as you think?

Almost everyone thinks they are above average. By definition, half of them aren’t. Twenty-five questions and fifteen minutes to find out which side you’re on.

  • Only 2 in 100 score above 130
  • A result with a margin of error, no tricks
  • Free, no email
Warm-up challenge 0:30

One rule per row. What goes in the orange cell?

    How far can you get?

Each level adds rules that apply at the same time: shape, number of figures, fill, size. In the first question you only need to spot one. In the last ones you need to spot four, and nobody tells you which.

Your IQ doesn’t come from how many you get right, but from how far you get: one hard question counts for more than three easy ones.

    What makes this test different

    Free all the way

Many “free” tests ask for your card to show the result. There is no paywall here: you see your score, your profile and the solutions.

    Questions that are generated

Matrices, series and shapes are built when you start. If you retake it, you don’t repeat questions, so memory doesn’t inflate the result.

A range, not a magic number

No test gives an exact IQ. We show you the range your score falls in with 90% probability.

    Every question, explained

When you finish, you review each item: your answer, the correct one and the rule that solves it.

    How your IQ is calculated

It counts which questions you get right, not just how many.

    1. Each question has a known difficultyAlmost everyone gets the easy ones right; very few get the hard ones. That difficulty is refined with the answers of the people who take the test.
    2. A model estimates your levelItem response theory combines your right and wrong answers with the difficulty of each question, and discounts what is guessed by chance.
    3. It is converted to the IQ scaleMean 100 and standard deviation 15. A 115 beats roughly 84% of the reference population.

Example: an estimated IQ of 116 with a 90% interval between 108 and 124. It is an indicative estimate, not a clinical diagnosis.

    To understand your result

What an IQ test measures, what it doesn’t, and how to read your score.
